Hurricane WV Weekend Ride (a.k.a. July 4th weekend ride)

Date: July 3-6, 2008

Departure Time: 5:00 pm – July 3 (might change depending on participation)

Lead Road Captain: Keith Bailey, Phone Number: 301-346-4750, or email at keith61759@comcast.net

Departing Location: WaWa on RT 301, just south of Bowie

Destination: Wild, Wonderful, West Virginia – about halfway between Charleston and Huntington

Planned Route: Varies depending on the day, it will include interstate, back roads, mountain roads, and a four lane highway that is one of the best roads you will ever ride on.

Estimated Distance: about 1200 miles roundtrip

Tolls Required: None

Lodging: Hotels to be determined by number of participants

Comments: Please sign up early (at a meeting or with an email) so that all hotel arrangements can be made. This will be a few long riding days, but the roads should not be too difficult for anyone. However, if you thought that the orientation ride was too tough for you, then you might want to think about getting a little more saddle time before signing up for this ride. The roads are not super hard, but plan on about 250 to 300 miles a day. There will be lots of stops for necessary things and to enjoy the wonderful scenery. Call or email me if you have questions about the ride. Check out the April newsletter for more information.
