Bowie Baysox Baseball

Come watch the Bowie Baysox play the New Britain Rock Cats on Saturday August 9, 2008, at 7:05 p.m., with all of the Maryland and Delaware H.O.G. Chapters. There will be a great ball game and fireworks afterwards. There will be front row reserved parking for those who ride (we promise)!

You can choose from two different packages. For just $29.00, you get an all-you-can-eat All-American buffet. It starts at 6:00 p.m. and includes BBQ, burgers, chips, pretzels, beans, cole slaw, pickles, fixings, soft drinks, and ice cream. Seating is in the Budweiser Pavilion BUT you also get to go between general admission and the Pavilion. OR for the low price of $11.00, you get box seats very close to the field. If you wish to eat or drink, the concession stands are only a few feet away.

Tickets must be paid for in advance, make your checks payable to Annapolis HOG. We will be collecting money at the May and June Chapter meetings.

Skyline Drive Ride
This ride is limited to 35 bikes!  So sign up early, but only if you intend to go!

Date: Saturday and Sunday, August 30-31, 2008 (This ride is Not Recommended for new or inexperienced riders)
Coordinator: Ed Aufderheide, phone: 410-729-0355 (do not call after 8:00 pm please), email: eaufderh@comcast.net
Depart: Odenton Shopping Center, Route 175 in Odenton in front of the SuperFresh Market
Time: 6:40 pre-ride briefing
(you must be present at the pre-ride briefing to ride, so get up early) 7:00 am, departure
Destination: Skyline Drive National, Shenandoah National Park, VA
Route: Plan on a long day Saturday! We’ll travel US-32, I-70, and US-340 to Front Royal VA. We will make an enroute stop at approximately 90 miles (Charles Town, WV) for the Sportsters to gas up. In Front Royal we’ll stop again for all to top-off our gas before entering the park. I plan to arrive at the park entrance NLT 10:30. If all goes well, we can ride the entire length of the parkway, approximately 105 miles. If not, I'll adjust accordingly. We’ll depart the park and ride US-340 to New Market. The official ride ends at the hotel on Saturday. On Sunday, you may join me to return to Skyline Drive and re-ride about 30 miles of the scenic drive. Then it off to the horse country and the back roads of VA toward Leesburg, VA, Frederick, MD, and home (with a lunch stop enroute).
Cost:
- Park fees are $10 per motorcycle. Your pass is valid for six (6) days, so don’t loose it. You’ll need it for Sunday. You may also use your Shenandoah Annual Pass ($30), National Parks Pass ($80), or Senior Pass ($10 lifetime for those over 62 years old) if you have one. Annual passes may be purchased at the gate. For more information, log onto http://www.doi.gov/parkpass.html.
- Hotel: Call for reservations
(540) 740-3141.  Remember to ask for the Annapolis HOG reservation. Rooms are reserved at the Quality Inn Shenandoah Valley (Johnny Appleseed), New Market, VA. Costs are $72 for a double bed and $77 for a king bed, plus applicable taxes of course.
- HOG buffet: $14.00: Dinner is planned for at 8:00 p.m. at the hotel. We have our own dining room and attendant. Dinner will consist of beef stroganoff with buttered noodles, baked honey glazed chicken, spiced apples, California veggie medley, Jell-O with fruit, creamy coleslaw, buttermilk biscuits, apple fritters, assorted desserts, and coffee/tea. The cost is $14.00 per person.
Comments:
- Rain or shine event: This is a weekend event and will not be cancelled for rain, unless the forecast is severe or for the entire weekend. So be prepared.
- Picnic lunch on Saturday: Bring a picnic lunch for Saturday! Don’t plan of picking one up enroute as we may not have time, nor stop where you can buy one.
- For more information on the park facilities, fees, maps, etc. log onto their web site at http://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/driving-skyline-drive.htm
