Core Group Meeting:  Core Group Meetings are held at the Annapolis Dealership at 7:00 pm. Volunteers are welcome to help assemble the newsletter.

Comments: There will be a short discussion on our riding techniques and rules followed by a short ride to practice the various skills. This is an excellent ride for new members or those experienced riders that have not ridden with our Chapter. This ride is mandatory for all new Chapter members regardless of riding experience. This ride assumes you have already mastered the basic motorcycle handling skills.

Blessing Of The Bikes

Event Time:  10:30 sharp, Be on time for the service!

Location:  Rive Trace Baptist Church, 475 W. Central Ave (Route 214), Davidsonville, MD

Directions:  The church is on Rt 214 (W. Central Ave) between Rt2 and Rt 424.  From Annapolis take Riva Road south to Rt 214, then left to the church (on the right), or from Annapolis take Rt2 south to Rt 214, then right to the church (on the left).

Cost: none

Comments:  This is a "CLOSED" chapter event with attendance from the Annapolis HOG members, their guests, and immediate family members only.  The blessing will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m., so please plan to arrive early to ensure that we have a "quiet" and reverent bike blessing.  Road captains will provided directions to parking you bike before the event starts.  We look forward to seeing all of you at our annual bike blessing.  Event pins will be available for purchase. This is NOT a rain-or-shine event.  If the weather looks bad, check the HOG Hotline.

Comments: Nice non highway riding to pick up US 32, north to the PA area.  Plans currently are for a very late lunch in Red Lion (south of York), but that could change.

Harpers Ferry Ride

Depart: Odenton Shopping Center, in front of the Superfresh Grocery (route 175 in Odenton)

Depart time: 9:00, Pre-ride briefing 8:45 AM (be on time, or you can't ride with the group)

Distance:  About 100 miles (one way)

Route: Routes  Rt175, Rt32W, Rt108, Rt107, White's Ferry, Rt15, Rt662, Rt9, Rt27 and too many back roads to list.

Destination: Harpers Ferry, WV

Cost: $2 for White's Ferry

Comments:

Kick-off the riding season with a leisurely ride to historic Harpers Ferry.  Once off Route 32, we'll be taking almost all back roads in MD/VA with a couple of stops.  Once in Harpers Ferry, we'll stop to eat at the Southern Smoke BBQ at around 1:00 p.m.  You might want to bring snacks or buy them at the ferry store.  Since the ride is in April, dress in layers!  You can always take them off as the day warms up.  Afterwards, you can take 340E, 70E, 32E and go home on your own.  Or, join me on more scenic roads north to the Antietam Battlefield for ice cream.  From there we'll take 40E, 70E, 32E to home.  Please bring $2 exact change for toll!

Comments: The Poker Run registration fee is $10 with the proceeds benefiting the Motorcycle Accident Victims (MAV) Foundation. Free Event PIN to first 450 participants. Free Donuts and Coffee WSL*. Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich, Chips, Water & Canned Soda for sale WSL*. *WSL – while supplies last.

DONATE A CANNED FOOD ITEM (benefits Asbury United Methodist Church food pantry) AND RECEIVE A (i.e., one and only one) “FREE” EXTRA CARD to improve your poker hand.

The ride is light on superhighway, travels through several quaint, historic townships, and winds its way to Smyrna on Eastern Shore country roads. We will make a planned “U” turn which is required to cross Rt 301 at Rt 300 using the marked turning lanes. The ride will take about one hour and fifteen minutes, putting us at the dealership around 10:45 a.m. with plenty of time to register for the poker run by noon.

This is a non-chapter event. No ‘official’ chapter ride will be organized to this event. No chapter participation points are awarded for participating in this event.

MD Fallen Firefighter Memorial Ride
